Are you a land owner or trust looking to diversify your land usage, encourage visitors, and create an area of natural beauty? Do you have an interest in heritage, archaeology, education and crafts? Do you have woodlands that need managing?
The Prehistoric Workshhop are seeking 1-2 acres of good arable land, with facilities and parking close-by on which to develop our ancient farm. Our full vision for the site revolves around building an Iron Age replica Roundhouse, which serves as the heart of an educational farm managed and worked using ancient tools and techniques. Annually, we sow ancient crops such as flax and wheat, which we then use to teach various crafts. We will host school visits, workshops in ancient crafts, and research groups from The University of Leicester and other institutions.
We currently manage woodlands with annual coppicing to provide the natural materials for our builds, and work with a well-established group of volunteers. We have a range of land and animal husbandry skills, experience in educational settings, a fully established business model, and a lot to offer.
